A return to 8 bit greatness and at a reasonable price.  If only we could get some 16bit RPGs, and some decent 2D side scrollers…..

Confirmed: DIABLO 3

- It will be traditional Diablo sytle, not an MMO.

- So far classes include Barbarian (the video makes JUMP look useful) and Witch Doctor (which I think is basically necromancer, now summons come with corpse explosion built in - CHAOS).  Witch Doctor seems to be a mix of necormancer from Diablo 2 and Warlock from WoW (fear, disease, pets, etc..) + ZOMBIE WALL!

-Enemies now drop life/mana orbs upon death, less potion management.  Orbs appear to heal the entire party in Coop mode.

- Full Destructible environments (think collapsing walls on zombies and new traps designs) Barbarians don’t open doors, they smash them, now if they could only use it as a weapon for someone’s head…..

_ New WoW influenced quest system (probably similar loot and skill tree improvements)

Nintendo retribution

Tony’s purchase of the Wii is pointless now. All he has now is Brawl and Kart. I linked to the NintendoWiiFanboy summary; there are further links there.

Comment (Tony): I haven’t updated, going to install the homebrew channel today.

Update: I’ve won the battle, now have NES, Genesis, N64, SNES, GBA, MAME, and most importantly Tyrian (one of my favorite DOS/Win95 games) on the Wii. I can hook you up too mike if you didn’t update.

(Mike): Possibly. I read that Nintendo might release SNES Mario RPG soon. That’s the only other game I’m interested in getting.

(Mike 6/19): Dude, the update that eliminates the Twilight Princess hack has itself been beaten.

Kart update (not the one we wanted)

It’s nice to see that Nintendo is beginning to use the online capabilities for Wii Kart. Sadly, it’s not the update we wanted, where they eliminate the balance mechanism (aka. rape and fuck you over) and let multiple players unlock stuff in Grand Prix.

The level they recreated from Galaxy is actually a fun level and boss. Do you use shells to knock off the baddies? I also agree with Andrew’s last paragraph (he wrote the article).

Glam up your DS

I think Tony’s DS is a little drab. But don’t worry! He can get it glammed up by a Japanese company. They can make it look like a 12-year old’s lunch box for just $100.

Bling out your DS

(Josh has been playing a lot of DS too. He’s probably just as keen on this as Tony.)

GTA IV

It sounds awesome, the multiplayer is set up how I wish fucking Kart Wii was set up, varied and customizable.

Interesting, GTA IV causes real crime. <– Worth it? No.

Some reviewers have suggested that the drunk driving feature has social value in teaching people that it’s bad, MADD think it teaches people that it’s fun.
